John H Lloyd Neuropsychiatry Prize
Applications open 1 September – 31 October
The John H Lloyd Neuropsychiatry Prize (the Award) is awarded to an RANZCP trainee or newly qualified Fellow or Affiliate for the best Scholarly Project or equivalent research activity, focused on clinical neuropsychiatry.
Dr Lloyd was Director of the Statewide Neuropsychiatric Centre / Unit in Victoria between 1972 and 2001. Dr Lloyd was an esteemed clinician in neuropsychiatry and psychiatry whose opinion was often seen as 'the gold standard'. He was a clinical mentor and teacher for several generations of psychiatry trainees in Victoria.
The Prize is an incentive award of the College, designed to promote and reward excellence in clinical neuropsychiatry.
Eligibility criteria
You must be a current RANZCP trainee, Fellow or Affiliate member to apply.
You must also have:
- obtained your primary specialist psychiatry qualifications within the last two years from when the award opens for applications.
- completed meritorious research in the field of clinical neuropsychiatry
- done your research at least partly in Australia or Aotearoa New Zealand.
Solo lead authors encouraged to apply. Two or more applicants can apply as a group if your contribution to the work is as co-lead authors.
Previous recipients of the Award will not be eligible to receive the Award on a further occasion.
Form of award
The Prize comprises:
- a framed award certificate
- A$500
- an invitation to accept the award at the College Ceremony during Congress.
The prize doesn't include travel support or registration for the recipient(s) to attend Congress or the Section Conference.
How to apply
Submit a cover letter and an anonymised copy of your research work to the RANZCP by the due date.
Submissions should take the form of a:
- Scholarly Project
- published article
- draft article suitable for publication.
