Admission to Fellowship
This page provides information about Admission to Fellowship for trainees and SIMG candidates. There is a different process depending on your training pathway.
Admission process for Trainees
- Apply for admission to Fellowship using the Application for Admission to Fellowship form [PDF; 453 KB].
- At time of application, you will be required to:
- ensure all training requirements are complete and documented on your training record
- pay the Fellowship application fee
- submit a current copy of your medical registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) or the Medical Council of New Zealand (MCNZ)
- have your application proposed and seconded by two RANZCP Fellows
- ensure all training fees are paid. Trainees on an approved payment plan must be up to date with payment.
- Applications that have satisfied all requirements will be tabled at the Education Committee for ratification.
- Membership Services will contact you about payment of your initial Fellowship subscription fee (this is calculated pro rata).
- On receipt of the fee your name is submitted to the Board for admission to Fellowship at the next scheduled date.
- You will receive confirmation of your admission shortly after the admission date. From this point you have attained the qualification of FRANZCP and you may use the FRANZCP post nominals and insignia.
- Fellowship certificates are issued by Membership Services.
- You will be invited to have your achievement recognised at the College Ceremony during an annual RANZCP Congress. Cut off for inclusion in each ceremony is 31 March each year. Fellowships attained after 31 March of that year will be recognised at the following year's ceremony. Regrettably, special requests to attend an earlier Ceremony are unable to be accommodated.
