Certificate of Postgraduate Training in Clinical Psychiatry Committee
Reporting into the Education Committee, the Certificate of Postgraduate Training in Clinical Psychiatry Committee (Certificate of Psychiatry) is responsible for the administration of the program formerly known as the Diploma of Psychiatry.
Following requirements set out by the Tertiary Education Quality Standards Agency (TEQSA), the Diploma of Psychiatry will now be called the Certificate of Postgraduate Training in Clinical Psychiatry. The Diploma Committee, which will now be called the Certificate Committee are responsible for the administration of the program, which is a continuing professional development opportunity to support medical practitioners in developing enhanced skills to provide mental health care in our communities.

Responsibilities
Committee key responsibilities include:
The major responsibilities of the Certificate Committee include:
- establishing policies and procedures for the successful implementation of the Certificate
- confirm eligibility for entry into the Certificate, including assessment of recognition of prior learning applications
- ratifying and approving elective learning plans
- accrediting Certificate Supervisors, Elective Supervisors and Certificate Reviewers
- determining criteria and standards of performance to satisfy the rules and processes of the Certificate
- reviewing Certificate Participants’ Portfolios and awarding qualification for participants who meet the standards of performance and completion of all requirements.
- evaluating the graduate outcomes and recommending changes to the curriculum based on findings
- recommending any amendments to curriculum (including learning outcomes, learning activities and assessment) or its implementation to the Education Committee
- reviewing policy matters in relation to the Certificate for recommendation to the Education Committee
- overseeing the training of Certificate Supervisors, Elective Supervisors and Certificate Reviewers, Certificate Peer Group Facilitators and Certificate Assessors and advising them of procedural changes
Meeting frequency
The Committee will meet quarterly (with proposed meeting duration of approximately two hours). In addition to attending meetings, work will be required out of session.
