Honeysuckle Health and Healthscope sign five-year agreement
17 May 2023
Update
Honeysuckle Health (HH) has issued a media release announcing a five-year agreement with Healthscope. This partnership will involve HH encouraging providers to participate in the collection and consideration of patient outcome data. The agreement will allow all new insurer participants immediate access to the benefits outlined in the agreement.
The College has previously made submissions to the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission and Australian Competition Tribunal highlighting concerns with the HH buying group potentially impacting the clinical autonomy of medical practitioners and the welfare of patients in Australia. In 2022, HH entered a settlement which identifies the agreements they can make with medical specialists.
The RANZCP Section of Private Practice Psychiatry Committee has been informed about this development, and members will be updated on any further developments.
