Associate membership for SIMGs
All SIMG candidates on the Specialist Pathway to Fellowship are automatically granted Associate membership of the College.
In the same way that trainees enrolled in the RANZCP Fellowship Training Program are automatically counted as Associate Members, all SIMG candidates are now also better connected to the College community and have access to member benefits, resources and support throughout their time on the pathway to RANZCP Fellowship.
SIMG candidates who commenced before 2026
- Associate membership is automatically granted whilst you are on the Specialist Pathway.
- You won’t be charged membership fees until you become a Fellow.
- You don’t need to do anything to become an Associate Member – it happens automatically.
If you have already completed the Specialist Pathway and submitted your Fellowship application, you will transition straight to Fellow when approved.
If your comparability status is about to be withdrawn, you also won’t transition to an Associate Member.
SIMG candidates from 1 January 2026
Candidates on the Specialist Pathway to Fellowship will be automatically granted Associate membership.
