Section of Psychiatry of Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities
The RANZCP Section of Psychiatry of Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities (SPIDD) promotes the highest standards in clinical practice, training and research in the mental health of people with intellectual and developmental disability.
Aims
This Section aims to:
- promote the objectives of the College relating to the psychiatry of intellectual and developmental disabilities
- advise on and promote training in psychiatry of intellectual and developmental disabilities
- advance and disseminate research in psychiatry of intellectual and developmental disabilities
- contribute to and promote the highest standards of clinical practice.

The chair of the SPIDD bi-national committee is Dr Jennifer Torr.
The Bi-national Section Committee's Regulations outline the purpose and responsibilities of the SPIDD Committee.
