Professor Osvaldo Almeida
Professor Almeida holds a medical degree from the University of São Paulo in Brazil and a PhD from the University of London. Since 1998, he has been a clinical academic psychiatrist of Old Age in Australia. Almeida has authored over 400 peer-reviewed publications and has received numerous grants from the NHMRC and MRFF. His research primarily focuses on identifying and managing factors associated with adverse mental health outcomes in later life. He has also been recognised with several awards, including the “Senior Research Award of the RANZCP.” Currently, he serves as the Director of the Institute for Health Research at the University of Notre Dame Australia.
