Dr Cybele Dey

Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist, The Sydney Children’s Hospital Network

Dr Cybele Dey is a Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist who works at the Sydney Children’s Hospital Network, Australia, both locally and via telehealth to rural and remote areas of NSW. She is a Conjoint Lecturer in Psychiatry at the University of New South Wales.

Dr Dey is dual qualified as a paediatrician. She has worked as a doctor in child and adolescent psychiatry for over 20 years. She is a member of Doctors for the Environment, Australia, Chair of the DEA Mental Health Special Interest Group and chair of the NSW RANZCP Climate Psychiatry group.

Dr Dey is currently involved in research into climate change impacts on mental health and is the lead author of a recent paper on hot weather and youth suicidality, published in the Australian and New Zealand Journal of Psychiatry.  She has co-authored two textbook chapters and multiple papers and presentations on climate change and mental health in children and adolescents at local and national levels.
