Cara Davidson

Cara Davidson is a 4th year PhD Candidate at Western University in the Department of Health and Rehabilitation Sciences. She specializes in women’s health research with an emphasis on gender-based violence, health equity, and trauma- and violence-informed care. Her doctoral work explores gender-based violence as a social determinant of health among Canadian women experiencing breast cancer. She is also developing a trauma- and violence-informed care tool for use in clinical breast cancer settings with patients who have experienced gender-based violence. The tool aims to empower healthcare providers to individualize patient care and prevent re-traumatization, which has strong potential to improve health equity among this patient population. Cara is supported by the Canada Graduate Scholarship from the Canadian Institutes of Health Research.
