Manatū Hauora announced the publication of updated guidelines for the use of seclusion and restraint when treating people under the Mental Health (Compulsory Assessment and Treatment) Act 1992. The changes focus on the prevention, reduction and elimination of seclusion and restraint by emphasising approaches that are human rights and person-centred.
