Update from the Committee for CPD Chair

CPD
There are changes coming to the RANZCP CPD program. These are in response to changes to regulatory requirements for registration in Australia and New Zealand.
The College believes that all doctors should be lifelong learners. Our CPD program is designed so that our members can meet the requirements set by the Medical Board of Australia and the Medical Council of New Zealand.
Essentially the changes are more a re-allocation of hours rather than lots of new requirements. Feedback from colleges, including the RANZCP, was considered and has resulted in a more flexible outcome for members.
I’m also pleased to report that, at the time of writing, the percentage of members fully meeting their CPD requirements for 2021 is 97.4%. This is a great result after the last couple of years of disruption and shows our return to the 'new normal'.
If you ever have any questions about the CPD program, or how to use My CPD, I encourage you to contact the College’s CPD team at cpdhelp@ranzcp.org. They are very experienced and knowledgeable about the program, what activities might be suitable and the section under which they should be reported and are able to assist you directly with most queries.
Where there is any doubt, the team seek advice from the Committee for Continuing Professional Development (CCPD).
Dr Wayne De Beer, CCPD Chair.
