RANZCP Statement of Commitment and Action Plan to improve gender equity in psychiatry
29 Aug 2023
The College has launched a new Statement of Commitment and Action Plan to improve gender equity in psychiatry.
It identifies 36 actions to be achieved over five years, linked to core themes of leadership and accountability; advocacy; data gathering; and research.
The College’s Gender Equity Working Group, led by Professor Megan Galbally, has played a pivotal role in shining a spotlight on why gender equity matters, and steered our College towards taking specific actions to improve gender equity in psychiatry. While eight out of the 36 actions have already been implemented, our journey is far from complete.
The College thanks all members who have contributed to this ongoing endeavour. It’s through collective effort that we can drive meaningful change and ensure that gender equity in psychiatry becomes a reality.
