The College is pleased to announce the Certificate of Postgraduate Training in Clinical Psychiatry (the Certificate) launched on 2 September 2024.
Participants of the program have commenced their first term under the guidance of accredited Certificate Supervisors. Participants are undertaking the program in their current medical practice whereby experiential learning is complimented by an online learning portfolio. The portfolio includes learning activities, assessments, and ten online modules that serve as a comprehensive resource.
Many participants have already started their first module and possible feedback has been received about the program, which aims to enhance the provision of mental healthcare by medical practitioners in Australia.
RANZCP Fellows have completed the required training to become accredited in supervisor and reviewer roles. This training has introduced them to the program, the online learning portfolio and the learning and assessment requirements. Supervisors have been paired with participants and their initial meetings will soon be underway.
The RANZCP would like to thank the Australian Government, Department of Health and Aged Care for funding the development of the program, as well as the various members who have been engaged in the development and delivery of the Certificate.
