Dr Blackledge is a proud Arrernte man and an early career professional deeply invested in Forensic mental health. He is currently a 5th year trainee and is based in Adelaide.
“As a proud Arrernte man nearing the end of my psychiatry training, I've recognised the importance of leadership skills. My choice of psychiatry was driven by a curiosity about the profound impact mental illness has on society. This leadership training is a pivotal opportunity to enhance my abilities, enabling me to provide more effective support and guidance. My goal is to foster confidence in my dual role as a future leader and psychiatrist within my community, contributing to its well-being and driving change in a positive direction."
Dr Edjoni Blackledge,
Forensic Psychiatry Advance Trainee. SA Forensic Mental Health.
Dr Daniela Sabbioni
Dr Sabbioni is a Consultant Psychiatrist based in Geraldton Midwest WA and has recently attained Fellowship through the Rural Psychiatry Training WA (RPTWA) program.
“As an Aboriginal psychiatrist, attending this leadership course presents a unique opportunity …. By refining my leadership skills and gaining a deeper understanding of navigating complex healthcare systems, I can become an even more effective advocate for my community's specific needs. This, in turn, will allow me to bridge the gap between Aboriginal people and the healthcare system, fostering trust and improving health outcomes. Ultimately, the knowledge and experience gained from this program will empower me to lead the way in creating culturally competent healthcare practices that truly serve my community.”
Consultant Psychiatrist WA Country Health Service (Midwest Mental Health).
