Associate Professor Paul Cammell
Paul Cammell MA MBBS (Hons) FRANZCP PhD is currently the Victorian Director of Advanced Training in Psychotherapies. Over the years he has had numerous clinical and training lead roles in emergency mental health and psychotherapy and had spent his early career training then completing subspecialty psychotherapy and doctoral studies whist at Flinders Medical Centre, South Australia. He trained in Transference-Focused Psychotherapy and was a Visiting Fellow with Professor Otto Kernberg's Personality Studies Institute, Weill-Cornell Medical College, New York. He is currently a senior psychiatrist at the Royal Melbourne Hospital, Head of the Psychotherapy Program at St Vincent's Health (Melbourne), a Clinical Associate Professor at the University of Melbourne and a psychotherapist in private practice. He is also the Research Lead for the recently established Borderline Personality Disorder Centre of Excellence in South Australia. He was recently the Chair of the Faculty of Psychotherapy (RANZCP) and he has written numerous articles and a book, Reinterpreting the Borderline, about personality disorder, psychoanalytic theory and philosophy. He also co-authored a book, The Therapeutic Encounter, written with Ross Kalucy, elaborating on psychodynamically-informed practice in everyday psychiatric clinical work.

Cost
- $65 per person (incl. GST) for dinner and lecture (free for Tasmanian Trainees*)
- $75 for non-members
Zoom attendance available for members in the north/north west.
*This event is free for Tasmanian trainees to attend. Those who don't attend on the night will be invoiced for the cost of the meal ($65), unless there are extenuating circumstances. If you are no longer able to attend, you must advise ranzcp.tas@ranzcp.org before 14 March 2025, and you won't be charged.
This is an in-person event. If you are unable to attend in person i.e., for members in the north / northwest of the state, there will be an option to view the event via live stream. Please note, as this is an in-person event, attendees will have the priority and their questions addressed first, if there is time, questions may be taken from the online audience.
Registrations for this event close at midnight on 13 March 2025.
Cancellation and refund policy
Change of mind cancellations must be made in writing and sent to ranzcp.tas@ranzcp.org for a full refund by 13 March. Cancellations made after this date will not be refunded.
