In-personThe South Australia Rural Readiness workshop on Friday 21st November from 6pm to 8pm and Saturday 22nd November 8.30am to 5pm, to be held in the exquisitely quaint town of Hahndorf, is a unique and fully-funded opportunity for trainees and Specialist International Medical Graduates (SIMG) to establish and expand the skills necessary to engage in rural practice.
The workshop will allow you to network with peers, enhance preparedness for training and practice in a rural location and build an understanding of psychiatry in rural and remote Australia.

Event Information
Workshop highlights:
- An evening social event with invited local PIF members, canapes and drinks provided and an expert speaker sharing their experience working in rural and remote locations
- interactive learnings
- practical case studies and collaborative panel discussions
- discussion of the realities, challenges and positives of practice of psychiatry in a rural location
- peer support opportunities and social activities
- unprecedented access to senior rural specialists
- An informal dinner on Saturday to continue conversations with peers, senior psychiatrists and cement relationships to sustain trainees and SIMG on their Fellowship career
Attendees will be funded for accommodation, travel and meals.

Eligibility
This workshop is open to trainees and SIMGs currently undertaking psychiatry training in a Modified Monash (MM) 2–7 location for Rotation 2, 2025 and/or Rotation 1, 2026 in South Australia.
Funding
Travel and accommodation are included for successful applicants, enabling participation in this rare professional development opportunity.
