Noelene Armstrong
Noelene Armstrong is the Peer Project Manager and one of the co-founding members of the NT Lived Experience Network.
In 2015, Noelene transitioned from Engineering to the Mental Health sector as a peer worker based on her individual lived experience and experience providing support and advocacy to family members. Since then, she has worked as the Mental Health Team Leader at Carers NT, National Psychosocial Support Lead at the NT Primary Health Network and Project Officer for the Darwin Peer Led Education Pilot at the NT Mental Health Coalition.
For the last 2 years Noelene has worked as a Trainer and Assessor, supporting the professionalisation of the NT's emergent peer workforce, and as Project Manager on behalf of the NT Lived Experience Network, supporting the development, trial and evaluation of three peer-led education and recovery programs.
In 2023, the NT Lived Experience Network was awarded joint winner of the NT Human Rights Award for Social Change and Noelene was awarded the ANU Centre for Mental Health Research Lived Experience Research Medal.
