Assessment dates
The National Assessment panel dates are for new Specialist Assessment (Partial or Substantial Comparability) and new Area of Need (AON) applications only. New AON applications are for applicants who change AON positions while on the Specialist Pathway.
Submission of documents date
This date is designed to allow sufficient time for the SIMGE team to check your application for completeness and contact your nominated referees to return their Referee Reports. The SIMGE team requires receipt of your completed Referee Reports and any outstanding documentation to progress your application to the National Assessment Panel.
Applications must be complete by the relevant Submission of Documents date. Any outstanding documentation or an incorrectly completed application form will render your application incomplete. If your application is incomplete at the Submission of Documents date, it cannot be considered for that round of assessments.
Fees and documentation
All fees and required documents must be received at the College before an application can progress for assessment. Should there be any outstanding fees or documentation after your application is checked for completeness, the SIMGE team will notify candidates via email and provide a final deadline for payment or submission of documents for your application to be progressed to the National Assessment Panel in the relevant assessment round.
Please note that, even though your documentation may be complete by the relevant Submission of Documents date, it does not guarantee a secured place in your preferred assessment round. Places in each assessment round are limited and there is a cap on numbers based on the availability of National Assessment Panel members.
Review process
Once your application is reviewed and considered complete, we will be better placed to advise exactly when it can be assessed. This will also depend on the volume of applications received at any given time. Candidates are prioritised in accordance with the date of receipt of a complete application. Should a place become available in an earlier assessment round due to a cancellation, we will notify candidates accordingly.
Interviews
Interviews for each round will be conducted on one day during the week indicated. The date and time of the interview will depend on the availability of the Panel members and will be advised to applicants alongside the Summary of Preliminary Review (SPR) letter. Interview dates are unable to be changed due to applicant’s unavailability. It is recommended that applicants keep this period free of other commitments until they are advised of the interview date and time.
