The National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) Pricing Arrangements and Price Limits (previously the NDIS Price Guide) assist participants and disability support providers in understanding how price controls for supports and services work in the NDIS.
The NDIS Pricing Arrangements and Price Limits for 2024–25 include updates that may impact psychiatrists working with individuals with intellectual or developmental disabilities. These updates enhance flexibility in managing cancellations, travel expenses, and telehealth services, allowing psychiatrists to better meet the unique needs of their NDIS clients.
Key updates include:
1. The Intensive and Complex Behaviour Supports:
New policy rates per hour:
- Weekday Daytime: $73.09
- Saturday: $102.86
- Sunday: $132.62
- Public Holiday: $162.38
Higher rates apply in remote regions, reflecting the increased intensity of services required.
2. Short Notice Cancellations:
- Psychiatrists can now claim up to 100% of the service fee if a participant cancels within 7 days for DSW-related supports or within 2 days for non-DSW supports. This update provides compensation for missed appointments with established cancellation policies.
3. Telehealth and Non-Face-to-Face Services:
- Telehealth services are fully claimable if pre-agreed, supporting remote service delivery. Non-direct support activities such as report preparation are also billable, offering greater flexibility in service delivery.
4. Provider Travel Reimbursement:
- Travel time can be reimbursed at the support rate and non-labor costs e.g., mileage are covered up to $0.99 per km. Higher travel limits apply in remote areas, ensuring broader geographic reach for psychiatrists.
5. NDIA-Requested Reports:
- Providers can now bill for reports requested by the NDIA, ensuring that time spent on essential documentation is compensated.
